“This class will introduce people to the sport of kayak fishing on local Iowa rivers and lakes. It will start with a demo of fishing kayaks where you will have the opportunity to try out various models and discover their features and stability. Next, two Iowa fisheries professionals will discuss local fish species in our rivers, habitats, seasonal movements and techniques to catch them. We will then be loading up in the kayaks to get your fishing lines wet as we paddle, fish, and provide instruction down to the Boy Scout camp. After a morning of great fishing, fishing tips and paddle instruction we will provide lunch on a sandbar. Hope you can join us for this educational and exciting day of fishing!”

The videos were prepared by Tanner Speidel, a regional pro-staff member at Jackson Kayaks, resident of Vinton, and frequent paddling angler on the Cedar River. OBTW, Tanner performs the paddling, fishing, editing, and even much of the musical soundtrack. And, Tanner will be part of the instructor staff for the May 7 Kayak Fishing Workshop!
