More info from Noah Truesdell, organizer for Floatzilla:

Floatzilla is an annual paddling event and World Record attempt that takes place on the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities. This year Floatzilla will be on August 18. We offer camping on Credit Island, which is also one of our launch locations, the nights before and after our event. Participants launch from 6 different locations across the Quad Cities on Saturday morning, then make their way down the Mississippi, either locking through or portaging around Lock and Dam 15, to Lake Potter in Rock Island. Once they arrive we have music and local food for them to enjoy up until the World Record attempt. At 2:30pm everyone gathers in the middle of the lake to create the world’s largest raft of kayaks/canoes.
