Sep 24-27; Level 1/Base River Restoration Toolbox Training, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, University of Northern Iowa CEEE Building, Cedar Falls. (Will also be offered Oct 8-11, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, at Clive Aquatics Center, Clive IA.) Iowa Rivers Revival is partnering with the Iowa Storm Water Education Partnership, the State Revolving Fund, the Iowa DNR, & Stantec to offer these two workshops, encouraging practical applications of best management practices in the “Toolbox.” Projects such as dam removals and mitigations, bank stabilizations, and installation of riparian buffers have been shown to improve the health of aquatic life and increase fish populations, benefit wildlife, reduce flood damage, protect agricultural land, increase recreational opportunities and make them safer and more enjoyable, and bring economic benefits to nearby communities.

Classes are limited to 24 participants per class. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2 to be offered in 2019.
