Feb 24; Saylorville Bald Eagle Watch | 12pm to 4pm
Eagle viewing on the lake with spotting scopes and interpreters. Cottonwood Rec Area and Bob Shetler Rec Area will be open for viewing. Eagle movie at the lake visitor center.
1-3 pm Jester Park will have live birds presentations on the hour.
Participants can pick up a passport at either location, complete, and enter into a drawing.
Stop by the Saylorville Visitor’s Center to learn about the bald eagle, then venture outside to view them in their natural habitat. Jester Park Lodge will host a live eagle used for education. Hourly programs start at 1 pm. FREE. No registration required.

Wildlife Biologist Dr. Jim Pease has been confirmed as the Keynote Speaker at the Feb 23

Indian Creek Nature Center “Paddle Day” in Cedar Rapids. A Professor Emeritus in Natural Resource Ecology & Management at Iowa State University, Jim has 4 decades of active speaking, writing, consulting, leading international trips, & volunteering with Iowa 4-H et al.  Jim is heard on the monthly “Wildlife Program” edition of the Iowa Public Radio program “Talk of Iowa” with host Charity Nebbe.

Breakout Session Speakers include outdoor photographer Kip Ladage, adventure paddler Vern Fish, local sportsman Ryan Sundermann, and Iowa DNR River Programs Outreach Coordinator Todd Robertson.

Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous, Clear Lake @ City Park

Jul 20; Annual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous, Clear Lake, IA. The Clear Lake Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society will hold its annual boat rendezvous at Clear Lake’s City Park lakefront and Arnolds Park Docks, 37 Lake St, Arnolds Park, IA. Wooden, aluminum & fiberglass boats built from the 1920’s-1960’s will be displayed on land and in the water downtown at the Seawall by City Park.  Free admission.

This is a non-judged show except for People’s Choice and Skippers Choice awards. Rendezvous public viewing will run from 10:00 am-3:00 pm Saturday on the docks of Arnolds Park.
