Oct 12; Iowa Trails Summit, Panora, IA
The Iowa Trails Summit has been revived for 2018! Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Trees Forever and Golden Hills RC&D have partnered to bring back this conference to unite professional and volunteer trail builders and advocates for a collaborative learning experience. The Summit will be held at Lake Panorama National Golf Course, 5071 Clover Ridge Road, Panora, IA 50216 on Friday, Oct 12.
The Iowa Trails Summit is a conference for professional and volunteer trail advocates to unite through a collaborative learning experience–a crash course in developing multi-use trails for our communities. Regional trail experts will dig into topics such as corridor acquisition and easements, engineering and construction, grants and funding, maintenance, marketing and promotion, trail enhancements and volunteer retention. There will be something for trails in all phases of development.
The Summit will open with trail stories from attendees and facilitators — setting the stage for breakout sessions focused on those who want a trail and those who have a trail — and wrap up with a comprehensive vision for the future of trails in Iowa: creating, maintaining, promoting and growing Iowa as the Trails Capital of the World. Join us to see how you can play a part in making Iowa the World Capital of Trails!
Included with registration is an optional Thursday night bike ride and reception. Ride the Raccoon River Valley Trail from to Redfield and Hanging Rock before returning to the Resort and evening Networking Reception starting at 7:00 pm.
